the mechanism isnt exactly nice, its notchy and stiff but what do you expect from ford lol. its still easy to use the handbrake with the cup holder folded out (pics show it with handbrake on and off). | the mechanism isnt exactly nice, its notchy and stiff but what do you expect from ford lol. its still easy to use the handbrake with the cup holder folded out (pics show it with handbrake on and off). | ||

I got this cup holder off ebay.com in america, put it in the other way round (the ford contour is left hand drive) and cut my existing pen holder bit so the cup holder can pop out.
Works a treat! I had to trim off alot of the underneath of the pen holder itself, and trimmed/filed a couple of corner of the cup holder edges to fit in properly.
Then screwed it in place, and glued the old pen holder back in.
The top trim it came with wouldn't fit very well on the Mondeo, that's why I cut the existing pen holder.
the mechanism isnt exactly nice, its notchy and stiff but what do you expect from ford lol. its still easy to use the handbrake with the cup holder folded out (pics show it with handbrake on and off).
Could be done on a mk2 if you fit a mk1 centre console.
I now have the ST200 Recaro seats (with the larger side bolsters) and the cup holder still works fine with a drink in it, it doesn't foul the seat.
