Ford VINs (chassis numbers) show a multitude of information. The VIN is on a stamp which can be under the bonnet or in a door shut; in newer cars, the VIN is visible at the base of the windscreen. One very useful one is the year and month of build. To determine this the last two letters before the five-digit number at the end of the VIN are considered (characters 11 and 12). These can then be cross referenced with the table below.
Note that the month code is on a four year cycle, using the 16-character sequence JUMPBRAGCKDELYST.
