Tools Required
Suitable Spare Flat Pack Furniture Allen Key ( or other suitable small bent tool may do the trick )
Patience as you probably wont get the right spot @ 1st
Task In Theory
Basically use an allen key from an old flatpack furniture kit to open the glovebox by doing the same job that the handle normally does ie push the glovebox latch down to release the glovebox.
Method
If you have a spare handle already awaiting fitting
Pull hard enough on the handle to fully break it off.
then when the handle is fully out you can then ferret around in the gap @ the passenger side ( UK models ) & towards the back of the opening around half way down the opening you should be able to hook in the allen key or similar & pull down towards the floor or twist the tool to force downwards movement of the end in the glovebox ( which method is used will depend on the tool used etc ) which should release the glovebox as the following pictures show.
If you are going to attempt to fix you current handle
You may still be able to use the above method but without breaking the handle off 1st but access will be much harder etc
( will probably involve plenty of foul language being uttered mind but could save you some pennies in the end )
