Boot opens uncontrollably

On your MK3, if your boot is responding to your "open" command unpredictably, keeps opening on you when you are doing nothing in particular, the interior release works variably, and the most reliable method of opening it is the key fob, probably you have a duff boot switch. Change it. It is £29.01 from Fords.
