V6 engine removal how-to


1. take battery off and battery tray (mark every nut,bolt and wiring with tape or plastic bag)

2. jack car up and take off exhaust, (the y pipe )

3. remove the front/rear manifold off from the engine, drain the oils trans/engine/ remove filter

4. undo the front and rear roll resistors, undo the water screw on radiator and drain

5.remove the alternator belt

6. remove the three bolts and take off the aircon pump and tie it down to the car away from engine

6a remove driveshafts from hub and take off black driveshaft mount from engine block

6b remove alternator wiring loom and remove alternator bracket from engine w alternator, again don’t need to take off alternator but gives more room,

7. remove air filter and all hoses,

8. remove the clutch hydraulic lines and all the shift cables completely

9a. depressurize the fuel lines by pulling fuse 14 fuel pump fuse

9.b remove fuel lines with homemade plastic tool

10.disconect all the wires from the transmision multi plugs, earths etc

11. disconect the 2 O2 sensors from the front and rear wiring loom

11. remove the coolant hoses all of them from the radiator

12. remove the coil pack and disconnect leads and earth, again not need to remove but it helps with space

13. remove the upper and lower inlet manifold from engine

14. undo the powersteering pipes union and tie it back

15 undo the 2 nuts holding the wiring loom to the rear of the cylinder head 8mm iirc

16 undo the 2 nuts holding the front radiator pipe from the engine block

17 tie straps to the top of the engine towing eyes

18 undo the two top mounts from the engine bay

19 slowely lift the engine and gearbox out of the top of the car with a friend to guide u with an engine crane.
