Auto Wiper While Reversing
Parts
Some lengths of wire Bulb or multimeter Soldering iron/gun Insulation tape 2 relays - 1x single pole single throw (SPST) and 1x single pole double throw (SPDT)
Method
Remove the both top and bottom covers from the steering column. To remove bottom cover you will find it easier if you unclip the wiper stalk from the column. To remove stalk there is a clip on the top of it hold it back and pull up.
You will see two white/red wires in the back of the stalk there is one wire on the end that is not the one its the other one. plug cut the wire in half about two inch’s from the plug.
You will also see a wire that is Violet/Orange cut in to that but not through it and add a small patch wire to it and cover your connection. We will call this patch (1)
Make a simple two wires and a bulb system as a tester or use your multi meter for this.
Use the above device above to test to see which of these wires you need. Find the white/green, it should be the front wiper power wire so if you make the wipers intermittently swipe the bulb will light up or multimeter will show power as the wipers moves. Again as the Violet/Orange, cut in to it but not in half. Add a patch wire to it and cover your connection. We will call this patch (2)
Now look in the engine bay on the top of the gearbox you will see a connector pull it off. There are two wires Violet/Black and Violet/White. You are interested in the Violet/Black. On this wire cut it back and connect a patch wire to this and cover your connect. We will call this patch (3). Now reconnect the connector to the gearbox.
Finally put in a single wire between the steering column and the gearbox switch. We will call this patch (4)
Now for the rest of the how to just follow the diagram below.
